It was my second time there. Unfortunately, because of the current fire ban, I couldn’t build a fire or cook over it. That was actually my main goal. Oh well… it just wasn’t the right time of year for me this time. Maybe next time. I really hope it rains a lot soon. My arrival and departure were watched over by the Beagle I mentioned earlier. :) I didn’t get to meet her last year.
A beautiful and peaceful spot near the Vltava River. Although there are two cabins nearby, the vegetation makes them almost invisible, and even when people are inside them, it’s not disruptive at all. The campsite itself, complete with a fire pit, is situated in a hollow below the surrounding terrain. This has the advantage that even when the wind blows, the tent doesn’t budge and your belongings don’t get blown around the campsite. A big plus is the proximity to a flooded quarry, so even though there’s no drinking water at the campsite, you can fill a bucket there to put out the fire. It’s also convenient to be able to charge your phone using the outlet located in the restroom, which is lockable with a code, so you don’t have to worry about your phone. As for getting there, we strongly recommend following the owner’s instructions and map exactly. If you enter the exact coordinates into your GPS, it will guide you as close as possible to that point along what it considers a road—but that means it will lead you to the wrong turn. The road itself is easily passable for an off-road vehicle. It should also be manageable with a car that has a lower suspension, but it requires driving slowly and with great caution. We were satisfied with our camping experience at this spot and would love to return here if we’re in the area again.

The property is really very nice. We got water for rinsing from the nearby quarry. As soon as we arrived, the kids immediately started running and climbing all over the rocks and had a great time. Of course, Bella, the female beagle, came over to say hello. Thanks to previous reviews, we knew her name, so we became friends right away. She came to see us every day—she’s probably used to keeping an eye on what’s going on around here.
In the evening, we could hear some faint noise from the neighboring cabin below the property, but fortunately, nothing too loud. Mostly, we just heard a happy child playing. It didn’t bother us at all, but if you’re looking for complete solitude, it’s good to know that even though it may seem that way at first glance, you’re not entirely alone here.
A big plus is that the campsite is truly in the woods, under the trees. In the morning, the tree canopies provided pleasant shade, so we didn’t wake up sweaty right at sunrise. And the darkness of the night was amazing. On a clear night, the view of the stars was absolutely fascinating to me, as someone who’s lived in a big city for a long time.
But please don’t take this as a review of the campsite; rather, consider it a heads-up for future visitors. The campsite is clearly very popular—according to the reservations, there were only a few dates left. And unfortunately, not every visitor behaves as they should. Someone had left a mess behind before we arrived. Upon arrival, we picked up vodka bottle caps, a pâté box, scattered tomatoes, and other trash.
Even more unpleasant was that someone had poured a sweet liquid over the large rocks around the fire pit, which attracted wasps from far and wide. And the smell of urine next to the fire pit—practically right in our campsite—didn’t exactly add to the romance either. Of course, this isn’t the landowner’s fault, but unfortunately that of some visitors. With the site being so busy, it’s probably impossible to prevent this entirely.
Despite all these minor issues, we enjoyed our stay and can recommend the place. Just keep in mind that if you arrive after someone less considerate, you may need to do a little cleaning up first.
