The location is beautiful and quiet, and well situated for exploring the surrounding area. The yurt smells a bit musty, and due to the changing weather, we couldn’t air it out because we were heading out on all-day trips and couldn’t leave the roof vent open. Due to the prolonged drought, we couldn’t really use the pond, but we managed to go swimming using a garden watering can. Otherwise, the property is nicely maintained; barrels of drinking water and chopped firewood were waiting for us. It’s definitely worth a visit.

We chose the yurt to spend the night after visiting Jevíčko and near the Sloupsko-Šošůvské Caves. Unfortunately, we were caught in a severe thunderstorm on the way there, which literally created puddles on the access road. That evening, the puddles attracted some local “adventurers” who were tearing through them on ATVs—or rather, in Jeeps (we didn’t see them, we could only hear them). By morning, the road was completely impassable, but luckily we could get through on the other side, up the hill :) That bothered us less during our stay, though, than the fact that the yurt couldn’t be properly aired out because of the weather, so it was really unpleasant inside… Several reviews here mention a “musty smell in the yurt”; my grandmother would have put it this way: “It stinks like a monkey house” :) We live in a trailer year-round ourselves, and our child attends a forest preschool that uses a yurt as its base, so this really took us by surprise... There were tiny puddles of water on the floor along the inner perimeter. But I’d also like to commend the nice area around the yurt; the yurt’s amenities were fine, though a small outdoor kitchen with a camping stove and basic cookware would have been a plus :) The owner is certainly a nice guy; communication with him was smooth. He warned us in advance that there might not be drinking water at the yurt, but in the end, there was :)

A great place—it truly lives up to its claim of seclusion. A comfortable bed, and a very spacious yurt. Plenty of drinking water in an authentic barrel, as well as a place to swim.

A beautiful and peaceful place; we really enjoyed the fire pit and the little swimming pond.
