We are artists, and if we could have one more dream, it would be to learn to play more and to get involved as little as possible in the games that are, in a way, played everywhere. Please consider this lodging project—which we’ve been offering you since last year as a “no-camping” getaway—as part of our journey toward that dream. The first one has already come true for us: after many long years of searching, we’ve found a replacement for our lost paradise.
We offer you a unique, romantic overnight stay for lovers of nature, tranquility, horses, and deer in the heart of the wilderness along the border. It is a small, newly renovated trailer designed to offer a respite from the hustle and bustle of civilization—a place to stay filled with stunning views of the hills, just a short distance from Hraničky. Ideal for a stopover or for wandering through the unforgettable mountains—for those who long to rest for a while in the embrace of Mother Nature. For more active guests, by arrangement, we offer a range of sculpture and art courses, a retreat focused on natural communication with horses, or the opportunity for healing meditations, stillness, and reflection in the heart of the foothills.

Please do not expect luxury in the sense of material comfort. The cell phone signal is unreliable, but the more perceptive guests usually turn off their phones on the first evening so they can listen more closely to their own souls.
The accommodations are modestly and simply furnished, designed for a stay alone or as a couple. Please bring your youngest children or teenagers only if they show more interest in nature than in staring at a screen or display—they won’t be bored here. In that case, we offer the option of an extra bed, which takes up a bit of space inside, but can be arranged to create a large sleeping area with three mattresses.
Since the cottage is located on a sunny meadow, during the height of summer, we recommend arriving in the afternoon or early evening, when it’s no longer so hot. Summer is our busiest season; for those who want to truly unwind, we recommend visiting at a time of year other than the summer holidays.
Evenings and mornings are the most beautiful. On hot days, it’s best to head to the nearby quarries or mountain streams to cool off, or take a hike to some of the hidden valleys. Autumn here is breathtaking. Wispy mists rolling through the valleys, the bellowing of deer, the ubiquitous ripe acorns falling onto the silent ground—it’s a time of magic and melancholy, of curling up under a blanket and gazing into the fire. Winters here are enchanting; we love the days when we can’t go anywhere because of black ice or heavy snowfall the most. At that time, we set out with the horses onto the snow-covered plains in the surrounding area, and they run freely among ancient copses, with pieces of ice flying from their hooves and frost glistening in their manes. But all of this is hard to describe—you’ll have to experience it for yourself, if you’d like.

This year, we’ve added a dressing area, furnished a library, and built a natural wooden shelter outside with a dining counter and a gas stove for heating food. Meals are by arrangement; we can cook using herbs and vegetables from our garden. We prepare vegetarian meals, primarily using organic ingredients.
Showers and restrooms are also available in the nearby tack room.
Last year surprised us most of all because that—even due to the floods—the greatest demand for lodging was around Christmas, and I must say that we’ll long remember those moments when tired guests, after a hike, trudge through the snow to the shower and then back through the night’s silence to their warm lodging.

We ask everyone who visits us, if at all possible, to give your souls a break from phones and the internet—you’ll see how refreshed you’ll return.
Use this time to truly “recharge” and relax.
Please appreciate the ever-present beauty of Nature all around you, as well as our efforts to do everything we can to make your stay with us enjoyable.

P.S. If possible, please bring some healthier glass-jar candles—we go through them quickly. If you feel the cold easily, please also bring a few extra warm blankets. If you’re only staying for a short time, it would be a great help if you brought your own sleeping bag.

If you have any specific requests regarding the length of your stay or anything else, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. I consider setting the price for accommodations to be the most challenging task, and we’ll be adjusting it for a while longer until we find the best solution, so please bear with us. This is also because we only started last year, just before the flood, and at that time—due to the constant need to buy new equipment—offering lodging was practically unprofitable; it was more of a hobby for us, and we were able to do it mainly because we live and work so close by. Thanks to this, we’re able to be available, have enough firewood for the whole winter, and have the courage to face ever-new challenges.
