In the secluded area by the ski slope #7095

We offer a campsite in the Orlické Mountains Protected Landscape Area, at an elevation of about 600 meters above sea level, near Orlické Záhoří. This is a historic site—the ruins of a farmhouse that once belonged to Josef Kreuzel, a Sudeten mayor. The property features the remains of two buildings, a cellar, and a dairy shed. One section has been prepared for camping; there is a flat area suitable for about two tents or sleeping under the open sky, along with a fire pit. The property is surrounded by mature trees—ashes and a linden tree—which provide pleasant shade and, in the morning, a stunning view of the sun glinting through their majestic canopies. The other part of the property is overgrown with nettles; it has not been maintained since the ski slope was built. The location is secluded and peaceful, with no noise, though heavy machinery may pass by. Right next to the property is a new ski run, complete with snow cannons, and a ski lift on the other side. What remains of the protected landscape is still beautiful: a sun-drenched hillside with a nice view where the forest was once bulldozed. Further into the forest, the original terraces and the remains of farm buildings have been preserved. Directly across the ski slope from the property is a mountain spring, partially channeled into a pipe, so the water is easy to draw; the spot is overgrown but easy to find—it’s just a short distance above and behind the first ash tree protruding from the forest, and a stream flows from the spring. The water comes directly from the spring, and we consider it safe to drink. Firewood is stacked in piles, and there is also fallen wood around the property—uncleared debris left over from the neighbors’ logging—so if you use wood you collect yourself for the fire, you’ll be helping us clean up the area.
The access road is usually rutted from machinery, so access to the property is best on foot from the parking lot—about 500 meters uphill. There are many interesting places and tourist destinations in the wider area, and a ridge trail runs along the top of the mountain.
