What to do?

- You won’t find a traditional shower here, but right next to the cottage we’ve set up a simple outdoor wash area under the open sky. It has a supply of utility water, which is more than enough for basic hygiene, washing your hands, or rinsing out your mugs after your morning coffee.

Our property is located right on the border of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. Mountain bike enthusiasts will find dozens of kilometers of forest trails and challenging hills here, while recreational cyclists will appreciate the more leisurely routes through the surrounding villages and the area around the castle.

Not far from our little spot lies the Peklo natural pond. Swimming here is at your own risk, but it’s a great place to cool off quickly during a walk or stop for a break on a bike ride.

Whether you’re planning an all-day hike with a backpack or just a leisurely evening walk with your dog down to the foothills, you’ve come to the right place. From our little hideaway, you can walk directly to Točník and Žebrák Castles, or you can simply get lost in the surrounding forests, which serve as the gateway to the beautiful Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area.
We’re working on the cottage throughout the week, so you might hear some construction noise from the renovation here and there. It’s nothing you can’t handle, but we’d rather be upfront about it. Evenings and weekends, however, are all about absolute peace and quiet by the forest. We also ask dog owners to keep an eye on their pets—the property isn’t 100% fenced in, and we wouldn’t want your dog to wander off.

The garden was very nice, the grass was mowed, and there was even a fire pit with seating set up. A big plus was the running water on the property. Unfortunately, the place isn’t exactly secluded, but during our visit, the area was quiet (even though we were there on a summer weekend), so we enjoyed the sound of the stream and, every now and then, the bleating of sheep from the hillside above the property :) A great starting point for visiting Žebrák and Točník.
The property is flat and easily accessible. There is a gazebo with a garden fireplace, including a grate and plenty of firewood (an axe is also provided). A clean outhouse and a sink with running water are available. Above the property is a pen with sheep. About a 5-minute walk away is a local grocery store, and another 5 minutes further on are Točník Castle and Žebrák. The only road in the area is one where a car occasionally passes by—you can hear it, but it’s nothing that should be a bother. Across the road from the property is a stream that creates a perfect atmosphere at night. And if you want to start your stay with a bit of adventure, you can wade through the stream—see the photo. There’s only one other house in the neighborhood, and the people there were friendly.
